![]() In fact, I'd say the option to play Origin characters enhanced that element, because it means you didn't have to make a character that's entirely yours, but you did. After the companions I will go over the races you can choose if you decide to run a custom character, and the different classes you can select. I agree that it feels like more of a personal connection than inhabitting an existing character. I'll definitely give the game a run through with all of the origins eventually, but it seemed like an odd choice on my first run. Playing a create-a-character comes with the benefit of choosing Tag combinations that aren't possible with the Origin characters, and it's also worth it for Dome of Protection.įrom a subjective standpoint though, I always prefer create-a-characters. There's also a few negative outcomes a few characters attack certain Origin characters on sight, for instance, and having a create-a-character or two in the party reduces the chance of that happening by one or two fourths. Sure you get some unique interactions, but you can already have a vast majority of those interactions just by taking control of a party member and interacting with people. People say that the origins are objectively superior, but that's not true. "Onwards!!" He shouted, and stepped off towards the nearest kitchen. He's landed a date in Arx if can ever escape this shit-hole. Now the little fekker has ended up at Fort Joy after an attack by the Voidwoken, and he has his eye on Butter, wink wink. Sir Loin opened his bloodshot eyes to realise he was on a ship strapped to a table with a collar round his neck. He looked at the tunnel, then the demon and with righteous indignation punched it right where he thought the junk should be and legged it, after what seemed like 7,000 years or so, he all of a sudden landed back in his body with a thump. Sir Loin opened his blood shot eyes to see a dark foreboding tunnel with a demon presence that appeared in front of him. The Magisters however caught the source use and carted his limp body off. He attempted to plant the notion she would die for him and must take him to bed, but in his drunken state got it totally wrong and fell in love with himself, realised he couldn't f**k himself, and promptly died. He rocked up to the bar and ordered an ale and turned on the charm at Shiela, yeah source charm. One in particular behind the bar in Filthy McNasties place called Sheila Blige really took his fancy. He died one night after an all day session on the piss, chatting up all the honeys around town. Yup I play an undead Dwarf called "Sir Loin of Biff" It always seemed like he just knew every dwarf, and was missing dialogue scenes at times that I expected them. I liked him, but didn't have that real deep relationship connection with him that I had with Lohse and Ifan honestly. And Beast, who while being fiercely loyal, I didn't really form too much of an attachment to in game. Ifan, who became his closest confidant, Volgar's light and Ifan's darker real world tendacies coming off on one another. He was joined by Lohse, who became like a sister, both trying to cheer the other up and ask if they're doing well. He wanted to be a good person, but really struggled when his god literally told him to consume other's souls and put power over the welfare of others, as well as the idea that the race to Divinity meant he'd have to kill his allies, or so he thought. Until he met Beast and actually met Duna. He initially supported the Queen blindly and worshiped Duna. In case your curious, I played a dwarven mage named Volgar of the noble Frostforges, dwarves known for their use of using their water and fire magics to create excellent armor and weapons. ![]() ![]() I can easily make a story and get my character involved personally with the events of a game. I went with custom, and I'm pretty happy with the result. I spent like a couple hours trying to decide whether to play a custom character or an origin one.
